Fundamentalist Film Criticism

The web site Crosswalk.com has posted a somewhat warm review of Evan Almighty, a movie that, I think, most critics outside the conservative religious media have roundly panned. Nevertheless, Crosswalk's recommendation comes with an interesting caveat (summarized as a bullet point at the end of the review):
Though not preachy, the film has a mild pro-environment message that distorts the biblical idea of man's dominion over creation.
Huh? Where does one find such a distortable biblical idea? Is this another way of saying,"We wouldn't want our children to think that it's not okay to rape the earth, would we?"

I hate that folks are republican first and then Christian. This clearly is a politically charged statement that lacks any biblical backing. When will the American church stop thinking that Jesus is a republican? It really does distort the gospel when conservative politics outweighs "kingdom" politics. We need to be Christians first! As if God doesn't care about His creation. That even sounds crazy. Kudo's musicman for posting this!
